About The Project
We were recently contacted by the Boot family who were interested in scheduling a loft conversion in Berkhamsted. Like many of our clients, the family had started to outgrow their home, which meant that they wanted to covert their loft to enhance living space. With the aim of creating a master bedroom with an ensuite, we began planning the design of a Velux loft conversion.

What We Did:
To start the project, we began by installing the stairs. We had to slightly move the front box room wall to ensure that we had the necessary head height needed to install the new stairs over the first-floor stairs. This allowed us to capitalise on the space above the existing stairs, meaning no space would be lost elsewhere.
To create a spacious and light atmosphere in the house, we installed a Velux roof with windows. These created light in the stairwell, which lead up to a large bedroom; this featured another two MK04 Centre Pivot Velux Roof Windows and one large UPVC dormer. The room came with the perfect addition of a beautiful view of Ashridge Forest in Berkhamsted, which make the loft conversion just that extra special.
In the ensuite, we tiled the bathroom with a stunning marble effect tile which made the bathroom look chic. We also installed and fitted a square shower tray, sink and toilet to the room. Thanks to the Dormer windows fitted in the ensuite, there is ventilation and natural light, making the room feel spacious.
To equip the bedroom with plenty of storage, we created an additional area which would be used for hiding clutter. We also installed a new ideal 30kw Combi Boiler in this area, which freed up even more space for the client. They also had peace of mind with an 8-year warranty alongside the new pressurised boiler.
This project was a great success and displayed another example of how much space a loft conversion can bring to your home, as well as the huge benefit of adding value to your property.
