  • Duration: 5 Weeks

About The Project

Here we have completed a lovely dormer conversion for a fantastic family in Two Mile Ash, Milton Keynes. The family were looking to add two bedrooms and an ensuite for their growing sons. They wanted to move one of the boys up in the loft and add a spare bedroom for guests.

What We Did:

The loft space was made with trusses, and the homeowners before had created a sort of den area from one of the existing bedrooms. This had to be removed before we could begin installing the required steelworks. We also had to look to remove the existing gravity water tank in the loft space. We installed a new 180l mega flow water tank in the existing airing cupboard and converted the system to a pressurised water system in the whole house.

We built a full-width flat roof dormer to the side of the roof spaces to give the needed head height for the stairs and also make the two bedrooms a bigger size and a lot more usable. We finished the outside in render to match the existing nicely along with three brown UPVC windows supplied by our local suppliers Crown Windows.

We installed a new ensuite with full-size shower, toilet and sink, that works really well in the sloping roof section and gave a great usable bathroom to the third floor. The client added some extra items for us to do while in the house during the project, along with knocking two existing bedrooms into one room and even changing existing doors to newer oak doors.

This project is another great example of what is possible in that unused dark space, and what our fantastic DJ Moore Lofts team can achieve.

What The Client Said

"Thank you Dan and team for our amazing loft conversion. We had many different team members working here, but Phil was our main guy, and he was amazing but everyone was polite, helpful and conscientious. The whole team worked hard and got the job done, even managing a few last-minute additional tasks. A few neighbours have been to see what a great job they’ve done and want the same! Thanks again. "
