About The Project
DJ Moore Lofts recently completed a stunning dormer conversion in Bedford for a lovely family. For this project, the couple had already devised their own plans before contacting our team for a quote. They were eager to get our input, so we suggested a few ideas which would help them to enhance their living space while saving money. This included swapping their gable end windows for Velux windows, along with freeing up walls which could be used instead for storage or even their bed.

What We Did:
On a date and time that best fit with the clients schedule, we quickly got underway with building all three mini flat room dormer conversions. We ensured that all flooring and plastering was completed within a strict timeframe, which means that our other tradesmen could begin their work on the electrical and plumbing aspects. This included installing a new boiler, which freed up the old boiler cupboard on the landing. We then used this additional space to fit new stairs leading up to the conversion, which was placed over the existing set for a seamless finish.
Once the main build of the conversion was complete, we could move onto the exterior of the new space. All three of the mini dormer conversions were finished in a grey colour render that not only blended perfectly with the overall look of the estate but is also maintenance-free. We opted for fitting matching uPVC windows, sourced from our supplier, Crown uPVC Supplies. These were excellent finishing touches to the conversion, allowing the build to suit the design that the client initially provided.
The use of the new dormer conversion was a bedroom for one very lucky little girl, who will grow up in a beautiful space complete with an en-suite bathroom. For the final stages of the build, the clients requested a quote and designs for additional bespoke storage, along with wardrobes. Our designer, George, got to work on designing and fitting custom wardrobes and storage solutions, which maximised the usability and practicality of the room.
We are so happy with the outcome of their project; it is the perfect example of why considering a loft conversion will not only add property value, but will also provide your family with additional living space to grow. Having seen our scaffolding banner during the project and the end results, we were then asked to complete another conversion for a client on the same street!
