Hip to Gable With Dormer Loft Conversion in Tattenhoe
- Loft Type: Hip To Gable & Dormer Conversion
- Area: Tattenhoe, Milton Keynes
- Duration: 5 Weeks
About The Project
Here we have a lovely couple based in Milton Keynes, who were looking for extra space in their two-bedroom home located in Tattenhoe. Their existing roof space was very small due to the hip section of the roof and all the trusses in the way. This meant they didn’t really have loft storage let alone space for a bedroom. The only option the client had was to build a hip to gable loft conversion and add a dormer to the rear. This gave them the most space-saving solution available and helped us incorporate the stairs by putting them at the rear of the house rather than losing a whole room.
What We Did:
We built a rear flat roof dormer along with a new front section of the roof, resting the existing tiles from the hipped area to make the roof blend perfectly. The dormer was finished in a light grey Hardie plank requested by the client. We also matched the new gable end wall to the exiting bricks used when the house was built.
The main loft space is a great usable size along with the windows placed at each end of new space. We have also been able to incorporate a lovely little ensuite for the family too in the loft.
Overall a great simple conversion that has given a growing family the extra space they needed and all fully completed for them before Christmas!
