About The Project

Here we have a typical hip to gable loft conversion. We have completed many types of these conversions on near identical properties. The house leads itself perfectly for a loft conversion, as it has plenty of head height and normally means you can get the stairs over the existing ones without losing too much space from the front bedroom. This means you can turn the standard 3 bed house in to a 4 bedroom with master ensuite without losing the front box room. In this loft you can see we have been able to give high ceiling heights thanks to the high roof to start with. This helps make the space feel even larger once converted into a room.

We also installed a SK06 Velux window to the front slope and a french door and Juliet balcony to the rear dormer. This gave plenty of light on both sides of the room and plenty of air flow in the summer months. The bathroom/ensuite has a large 900 x 900 quadrant shower cubicle along with a toilet and sink. The space is bright and airy thanks to a matching UPVC dormer window. This works perfectly in the left over space from the hallway and doesn’t really impact on the large bedroom space! The dormer is finished in matching plain tiles to the existing roof. This helps make the dormer look more original and less intrusive. The black balcony and fascia and soffits blend in perfect also. This is a great loft space and certainly gave the family the added space they needed to give their children individual bedrooms without the need to move!
